about
Berite Labelle
A woman of the world, Berite was born in her mother’s hometown of Tiraspol, Moldova. At age four, she moved to Bosnia and on to Germany before landing in Geneva, Switzerland at six years old. Always a lover of language, she speaks fluent Russian, French and English, with a working knowledge of Spanish, Italian and Arabic.
This talent of communicating in multiple dialects is a trait shared with her late father, Moise Neroum Ngadande, who spoke seven languages and hailed from Chad, Africa. His globe-trotting job for the United Nations sparked her own sense of adventure.
“I think my father always knew that he would leave this world early; I feel like he wanted to see me as a grown woman, well educated and well dressed, before he left when I was 14 years old,” she says. “So when I was about six, I started to slip on my mom’s fashionable clothes and colorful high heels. My father loved taking playful videos and pictures, as I modeled. That was something fun for us!
With a flair for the dramatic, modeling came naturally to Berite. Her distinctive look and perspective spring from her mother’s Russian-Moldovian background combined with her father’s French-African heritage.
Interest in the business of fashion deepened as she studied commerce for three years at the Collège et École de Commerce Émilie-Gourd in Geneva, while apprenticing for the Swiss luxury timepiece and jewelry company, Bucherer 1888. Berite made her runway debut in 2015 at Dukascopy Bank’s monthly Geneva Forex Events at Four Seasons Hotel Des Bergues. Through 2017, she participated in the tech-savvy catwalk presentation of luxe fashion brands such as La Perla, Versace and Hervé Legér for an audience of financial professionals, which is aired on global television channel, Dukascopy TV.
Her catalog work led to a starring role in the 2016-2017 print catalog for the Michaud luxury jewelry and watch shop in Switzerland. In October 2021, she covered and was featured in both Glamour Bulgaria and Bold, the Canadian travel and lifestyle magazine. November 2021 marks a Vogue Ukraine cover, followed by a second Glamour Bulgaria cover in December. A Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam cover will drop in January 2022. In April 2024, Berite Labelle also became the model for the launch of the BALMAIN Hair Couture campaign worldwide. The campaign Balmain “Savoir - Faire” celebrated 50 years of the brand. She is also a model and Ambassador for the fashion brand Akris.
Berite’s lifelong dream of becoming an actor was realized when she moved to the United States in 2019. She had earned a partial scholarship to the one-year Acting Conservatory Program at the New York Film Academy in L.A. She completed her Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree in Acting For Film and completed both her first short film, Time is Eternal and her very first feature APRIL X shot in Romania in 2024.
Ever a dancer, the rhythms of the world speak to Berite. From Geneva to Los Angeles and back again, she has practiced ballet, African dance, modern jazz, belly dance and heels. Dance movements are often incorporated into her acting performances as an innate means of self-expression.
With all of her accomplishments, she has added an entrepreneurial edge to her repertoire that includes a Production Company for film and television in the United States where she is partner and the launch of her very own fragrance brand to unveil in 2025.
